Where is a good and inexpensive place to get contact lenses in either Sacramento or carmichael area. Thanks.

Vouch for 1800contacts.com too. I used to go to Sacramento Contact Lenses for a couple decades but when Kaiser coverage had optometry as an option, I would just get the script and order online. Cheap(er) and fast!

Tran, Sang OD - Pacific Vision Optometry

(916) 395-7571
6930 65th St, #113, Sacramento, CA 95823

Tran, Sang OD - Pacific Vision Optometry, Sacramento, CA : Reviews and maps - Yahoo! Local

the eye exam for contacts is very reasonable, they dont over charge for eye exams like other optometrists

when they give you your contact lens prescription, you can order from COASTAL CONTACTS on the internet and get them in the mail in a couple days.

Yes!
If you need a exam I just paid $79. They have optomologist onsite.
Contact exams are only good for 12 months for contacts.

order extra lenses mail order before your prescription expires and you wont need to get another exam after a year.

I do this as well. I get a paper copy of the 'script and order a year's worth of lenses right away from 1-800 CONTACTS then after a few months, I order another years worth. (this supplier will contact your eye doc to confirm the script is still valid)

Reordering for more than a year is of course efficient and handy if your eyes are stable. Depending on how old you are, sometimes getting into the forties means changes will happen and you will need a new script sooner. Also if buying for someone under twenty years, changes can sometimes create the need for a completely new prescription much sooner.

But the online source I buy from has a policy (which should be mirrored/pretty consistently at most reseller sites and your eye doc too) that if unopened lenses need a renewed script, you can send/take back the boxes of older ones and exchange for the new Rx you need. (at least this is what I remember at 1-800, and I haven't had to replenish my supply in over a year or so). Theoretically, this should mean that if there is a half off sale, and you restock, -- but before this supply runs out, then (theoretically) you can exchange and save money if you do suddenly have to have a script change.
