Default Moving to Sac...

My room mate and I will be moving to Sacramento at the end of next month. We will be attending college in the Natomas area, I believe. Neither of us are familiar with the Sacramento area. We are looking for a SAFE place to live that is also affordable. We are willing to pay $1000 a month, maybe a little more. What are some areas that are close to the school, affordable and safe? What are some of the best neighborhoods to consider in and around Sacramento? Thanks

Natomas isn't bad, and fairly reasonable rent-wise. Where is this school you are attending?

If you are looking for somewhere to rent and you will be going to school in Natomas, then I would just find some place near school.

I live in Midtown and I absolutely love it. It's more of a commute to Natomas, though.

Having lived in Natomas, I can't actually say I would recommend that other people buy there, because the neighborhood seems to be in decline. But if you were just looking for a neighborhood to rent that is close to school, I think Natomas is probably a very good choice.

I would look in North Natomas (north of I-80). I rented in South Natomas and did not feel safe at either of the complexes I lived in on either side of I-5. I love North Natomas and we actually bought a home here. Good luck!
