Default Paradise and Magalia

I'm thinking of moving up that way from S Cal. I remember Paradise being very pretty and about 20 minutes from Chico. I'm 50 and would like peacefullness without boringness. Any comments would be helpful. Thanks

The whole area is very nice, with little traffic anywhere (especially by SoCal standards), and there's plenty of affordable housing. But unless you're retired or self-employed, good jobs are pretty scarce, and depending on your political and cultural tastes, be aware that it's a very conservative and also religious area, and for better or worse, remarkably unsophisticated.

But yes, Chico is probably where you'll want to go for cultural events, better restaurants, galleries, shopping, etc., and all that's about 16 miles away, down the hill from the "Ridge" and Paradise. You might also look into Magalia as well, which is a substantial community just above Paradise, and tends to be a bit cooler in the summer and winter.

Thanks for your input. Sort of what I thought. Just seems you can get more the money in Paradise/Magalia as far as real estate goes.
