Default North Natomas rentals safe?

I am looking for home rentals in Sacramento area. Any thoughts about the North Natomas area? I have seen that South Natomas is not the safest.

Apart from crime, there is a thin possibility of floods to consider. Natomas area is considered high risk area for floods until the banks are complete.

There have been a lot of foreclosures in N. Natomas and the neighborhood is changing for the worse. Things were really bad last summer when the city was having local community meetings about crime. Since those meetings the area has improved somewhat as the police have increase patrols in the area.

If I was going to rent out there, I would make sure I got a place with a garage and I would garage my car. If you search the forum archives, you can find people who will describe which HOA's they think are better and worse.

You might also want to check out the police log on Natomas Buzz. Basically it points which areas police were responding to crimes in Natomas.

and you might want to plug in any homes you are thinking about renting in Natomas into the Sacbee's crime mapper.
