Most of our wineries have tasting rooms in and around the little town of Murphys and a few of them have their wineries located close by or on the premises. There are a lot of B&B's in the area and several real motels. I lament the passing of the sleepy days in that town back in the 70's. Dogs would lie in the middle of main street and not be in danger of getting run over

I would bet you that today's Murphys would remind you a lot of the good old days in Napa/Sonoma.

Or those with good paying jobs, which there still appear to be plenty of, at least in the Silicon Valley - which is where most of the wine country visitors are from I'd imagine. Maybe SoCal people should look up north.
