Default Best Grocery Deals in Midtown?

I live in midtown Sac and I'm wondering where are the best places to shop that are easily accessible and also cheap. I've been to Raley's and Food King before, as well as the Natural Foods Co-Op. I'm legally blind and on SSI and probably have about $50-100 for the whole month to use for shopping. Thanks in advance for your input!

Katelyn

YOu are in midtown? Have you gone to Albertson's - or Safeway - I'd guess they are much cheaper then any of the stores you mentioned

There is a ghetto Albertson at about 23 and f (I think) and anther on Folsom Blvd in East Sac (which is where I used to go)

Plus the Safeway that everyone knows of - over at h and 29th or 30th

There is a lso a Trader Joe's if you like it there

When I lived in Midtown, we did Costco for big stuff (meats, soft drinks, cereals) and then Safeway for other items. The Co-op is expensive for veggies but if you plan ahead, the farmers market under the freeway on Sundays is great.

Thanks for the suggestions! I live near Franklin/Broadway, so I'll look around that area for Albertson's or Safeway. Right now, I don't even have enough money for bus fare, so I'm on foot patrol when it comes to grocery shopping. At least I'll get some exercise in :P

Take Broadway to Alhambra, turn left and follow down past the co-op to Safeway. Not super close, but if you have a cart and the weather's nice, it's doable.

Also, there's the Smart & Final on Broadway that has some good deals that would be close to you.

On Sundays, take Broadway down past the cemetery for the Farmer's Market under the freeway. Again, a walk, but doable if you're in shape for it. There is an Asian food store across from Target that has some good deals, too.

Once you get bus fare, you can take Broadway down to Stockton and hit the Food Source. Great deals on produce.
