Great photos of both Sacramento and Davis!

Out of curiosity, where did you stay in Sacramento that had those balconies overlooking the river?

Thank you for sharing these photos of Sacramento. They are very enjoyable. I lived in California for several years (SF and LA) and the photo threads just remind me what a beautiful and diverse state California is. It is much different that 1-city-states like Illinois (where I am now). I am looking for a change just like a previous poster from Chicago. I never really thought about Sacramento until now and it looks like a nice community. Does anyone happen to have any photos of El Dorado Hills, Shingle Springs, and Granite Bay?

I recently mentioned that it is hard to see much of Sacramento at any one time because it is so flat (unlike cities like Portland, where hills allow perspective views of large portions of the city.) One way to correct this is to get up onto a tall building and take pictures. Here are some photos taken from the upper stories of a couple of downtown buildings. Note the horizon lines visible behind the buildings: the valley is very, very flat.

(Photos taken from the Sheraton, the Citizen/926 J, and the building at 11th & L whose name I do not recall.)

Great pictures. Does anyone have any residential pics of Davis area? Love the university pics, but would love to see what some of the neighborhoods look like too.
Sacramento area is so pretty. I had no idea there were so many trees until I visited last year. Heading up there again in a week or two.

It's been years since I lived in the area, so just for fun here's a couple 1994 pics of Folsom. It's from the Wal Mart center on Riley & Lambi at the other end. The 2nd one is a Food Source, not sure if that's still around or not.
