There are plenty of parks with volleyball nets in Natomas, but they are not used all of the time. It might be hard to find people playing, but if you do, just ask. Below is a link with all of the Sac area open gyms. Davis has open gyms on Tuesday and Friday nights as well as Sunday evenings. The players there are competitive, with a few sprinkles of inexperienced players. La Sierra has open gym on Sunday evenings and the players there are very competitive. You'll see some of the Davis people there once in a while.

There are other places that I haven't tried out, but Davis and La Sierra have very good players. You can go there, and then find some friends to meet outdoors probably. Also, I've met some volleyball buddies by taking American River College's volleyball class in Natomas. It started this week, but you can probably add next week. It's 3 hours one night a week. It's fun, and you'll be able to meet some people. The level of players is generally low because some people are just there for the easy units.

Hope it helps!

I saw this thread and even though I don't play volleyball, I wanted to alert the folks who play in parks on sand volleyball courts. They are basically huge cat litter boxes. Here in Davis, the city park maintenance folks use big sieves on handles to clean the sand - once in awhile - and it's amazing how much cat poop they get out.

So, if you play in that sand in bare feet, which it seems most players do, be sure to really wash your feet well afterward and maybe even use an alcohol handwashing gel on them, so you don't get toxoplasmosis from our kitty friends.
