Orangevale opinions?
We will be relocating in the Sac area.
We liked Folsom, EDH.We heard San Juan Unified was a good school district.Orangevale is in SJU from what we've gathered .What are the best areas of Orangevale? We see that there are bigger lots in Orangevale ,but the homes seem older.
We still like Folsom the best ,but we do like more land too. Is anyone familiar with utilities in Orangevale?
Thanks.

Just FYI. San Juan Unified is not that great of a district. It's huge which creates problems in itself. I know there are some great schools in the district, but for the most part, it's average.

Another opinion here..... yes, SJUSD is a declining enrollment district due to the bursting suburbs of the Sac area and families moving that direction, but it is still a large district with many successful schools. Some near the top of the areas API ratings. Just depends on the area you pick and the school it feeds into. There are some areas where you will be thrilled to have you child, and other schools that you'd want to avoid.
Folsom is newer and nice. Orangevale has some charm. Pick your spot wisely and you'll be just fine. Look into Phoenix Field.
I'm in Roseville, we have great schools out here.

Orangevale has larger lots than any surrounding areas. If you are a horse lover that is the place for you. Most of the homes are zoned to allow you to have domesticated animals and that is the difference between Orangevale and Citrus Hts. I work as a realtor and live close to Orangevale and if you have any specific question about any areas of Sacramento I can help you out. My suggestion is to contact a realtor. They know the area..

I think the SJUSD is a great district. Orangevale Open is one of the best schools in the area. Not real familiar with the area as far as real estate is concerned, but the PP's have given you great info. The one thing about Orangevale is that you have to travel some distance to get to a major freeway.

Orangevale has a few good areas and lots of not so nice areas. I drive through there everyday on my way to work. You will have to check it out yourself.
