Default Average commute from Fair Oaks to Downtown Sac?

My husband and I are thinking of moving to Fair Oaks. We live in Sacramento, in the Pocket neighborhood, but are just now learning more about areas east of downtown, like Fair Oaks, which we like because of its proximity to the river and its small-town, more suburban feel.

QUESTION: How long is the average commute going from south-central Fair Oaks (area near crossing of Sunrise and Sunset) to downtown Sacramento? My husband works right near the Capitol, and needs to be at work by about 9 a.m., and typically leaves his office around 6:30 p.m.

Thanks in advance for your feedback

He can do that commute if he wanted without ever getting a freeway - although a freeway (without traffic) would be quicker - Fair Oaks will give you many options

I'd say 25 minutes

Yeah, I'd say 30 min., give or take, depending on how bad traffic is that day. Although, I've seen it take an hour on a Friday in the rain.
