Default New resident looking for dental care-any recommendations

I'm new to Sacramento and will be looking for dental care in the near future. I recieve some sort of flyer in the mail or paper several times a week for some sort of dental office. I'm not used to all that advertising for dentists. I am in the Natomas area but it doesn't necessarily have to be there. I am looking for someone that does basic dentistry like cleaning, fillings, crowns. Where I come from a new crown would cost around $1100. I have a couple that need updating. Is that kind of the going rate? Can anyone recommend a place to go, or for that matter a place to not go.

I use American River Dental in Rancho Cordova (on Coloma road) because a good friend works there as a hygienist. I'm really picky about dentists and so far have really liked them. They are very thorough and professional and I would definitely recommend them. Not so sure about their prices though (my insurance covers most of it).

The best dentist I have ever had is Dr. Smith at Smith Dental on Howe Ave. in Sacramento. He's GREAT!
