No, we are too far south. On a clear day you can see the Sierras if you're up high enough, or the coastal range (not sure about Mt. Diablo.) You have to drive an hour or two north up the Sacramento Valley to see Mount Shasta.

You can see Lassen from the summit of some Tahoe area peaks on clear days in summer. It's not clear, more like a mirage. I'm a former Mt. Shasta city resident and I can tell you there is no way to see Shasta from Sacramento. You can barely see Shasta from Redding on a clear day, the foothills get in the way.

Seeing the Sierra's is a daily occurance on clear days during the winter, forget about it in the summer.

I figured. I may be moving there and was hoping you'd be able to see Shasta like you can see Mt. Hood from Portland.

Nope, it would be nice though. I still remember the first time is saw Mt. Ranier from the Puget Sound ferry, what a magnificent sight. Even if the foothills didn't get in the way the distance from Sacto to Shasta or Lassen is much further than Portland to Hood River. From Sacto to our old house outside of the town of Mt. Shasta it was about 230 miles. Portland to Hood River is only about 60.

I live in Natomas and we had a few beautiful Sierra days recently-- super crystal clear. It's usually the first couple of days after a storm

Hahahaha. LOL. It'd be even funnier if it weren't so true.

On the other hand, on a windy day in the spring, when the breezes blow the pollution out of the way, you can get a pretty nice view of the coastal range or the Sierras if you happen to be in the right place (the crest of certain hills, driving on I-80 at some points, or up in a downtown office building.) That can be kind of nice.
