Default SMUD rate increase

Funny thing last night I saw a SMUD advertisement on tv encouraging users to use energy star appliances, cfl bulbs, etc. All this to lower energy consumption, and your utility bill.

Later I am watching the news and they report how SMUD will be raising their electricity rates due to customers doing such a good job of conserving, now they are not making enough profit. I did not catch all the details, but I think it is a 2 stage increase spread over time.

I am serviced by PG&E. I am sure they will follow suit very soon.

Every where we turn....More Money
