I like Citrus Heights. It has gotten really run down though. I am hoping the new Police force will change all of that. I personally have never had a problem with crime in CH and I lived there for 20 years.
The Birdcage area is not an area that I feel safe in, besides the retail parts. Lucky's and Albertson's are both gone.
If you are looking for an apartment I would suggest Salishan off Antelope and Auburn. They are a little pricey, but they have tons of amenities, professional staff that fix problems promptly and is a safe gated community. If I went back to apartment living, I would move back to Salishan. I lived there as a teenager with my mother and I lived there as an adult. I just moved out 2 months ago because I wanted to save up some money in order to relocate. I also loved their big summer parties at the club house with dj, catered food, drinks and prizes. Lots of fun. And they have Monday Night football parties when the Raiders play.

When I lived there I felt very safe no matter what time of day or night I went out anywhere. Is it basically that way still today?

Citrus Heights is not as nice as it used to be alot of gang related stuff

I've lived in Citrus Heights for more than 19 years and have never feared for my safety.

According to apartmentratings.com the three highest rated apt complexes are The Grove, Oak Creek Village Apts, and Huntington Square.

Does anyone have any personal knowledge of these complexes?
