Default Pregnant and new to area. Sutter Memorial or Mercy San Juan?

Hi

I just signed a lease on a home in the 95825 zip code. I am 16 weeks pregnant and will be arriving in Sacramento at 19-20 weeks. I need to know which hospital is best so I can choose a doctor right away. I have found several practices that take my insurance but they cater to either San Juan Mercy or Sutter Memorial.

I have a 2 year old son who I had in Napa. I wish I could drive there but much too far! I was looking into the Camellia Women's Health office, or Sutter Independent Physicans at Capital OB/GYN.

Can someone please let me know their experience with the different hospitals? I'd prefer a private birthing room/recovery room so my husband and son can be there as well as my mom. I would also like the hospital to be breastfeeding, and rooming in with the baby friendly. I hate when they take them to the nursery! I like to have them with me, lol.

My son ended up having to go to a level II NICU for severe jaundice level 25 for a few weeks after birth, which was terrible. In preperation a hospital with good attending peds and NICU facilities would be nice too. I had a high risk birth with him due to pre-eclampsia.

Please let me know your experiences with sutter or mercy san juan and who you'd recommend! Thank you!!

We have a 16 month old that was born at Sutter. The doctors and nurses are amazing there. We had no complaints about it and would definitely recommend them.

I had a high risk pregnancy (pre-eclampsia) and came back to Sacramento to see the specialists at Sutter. There are no high risk doctors in my area. The staff at Sutter were great and my son and I were well taken care of. I cannot remember the name of the high risk doctors, but they are just across the parking lot from Sutter Memorial. My son is now 6. Two of my sisters went to the Camellia office and delivered all of their kids at Mercy San Juan with no problems. Their pregnancies were totally normal and their kids range from 11 months to 6 years.

deffinately sutter ......i have tried many obgyn's and the best i have found is dina canavero, who works right at the sutter roseville hosiptal, i had many complications with delivering my 2 sons with her, (me having complications, not her) and she fixed them amazing and made sure that i got care that i needed, checked in! and is just so easy to talk to, and really has my best interest in hand! she could be really strict, but it is only for the best of you and your baby! my sister in law uses her 2, for her 2 children, and agrees she is the best around!

i talked to many nurses while having my 2 boys and they all said that she is the best obgyn that works that hospital! even though she can be strict and alittle demanding, but she expects the best for her patients!

and i just love her staff, her nurse is AMAZING, and the front people and the billers are amaczing too!

Sutter hands down. I may be biased, as our kids were born there.
