How's Yuba City?
i currently live in sacramento and have visited yuba city only a couple times (my second time was yesterday). What i liked is how friendly the people are, i mean they seem to want to have a conversation and are helpful in giving you directions. Do people in yuba city really are more friendly and social, than let's say sacramento?
I was looking for somewhere to move where people are friendly, crime is low, houses are cheap and with places to visit and things to do. Should i look more into moving there?

The unemployment situation there is really bad.
Yuba City and Redding Have Two Of The Highest Unemployment Rates In The Country - CBS 12 Action News
Some people were commuting into Sac or Roseville. But if gas prices go back up again, you might regret that decision.
The place is really cheap. But when its that cheap and their are that many people unemployed, you end up with lots of social problems.

I was born and raised in Yuba City, and lived there for 30+ years. Crime is NOT low there and the gang situation is getting out of control. There are lots of drugs and other social problems, and I'm talking a LOT for the size of the city. It's not cheap, either. A 3-bedroom house in a decent area is still going to run $1200-$1400 a month. We live in Nebraska now, in a nice city roughly the same size and I could rent the same house in a similar neigborhood here for about $600. No bullets whizzing by us, and no one asking my kids if they are down with Norteno or Sureno, either.

LOL....you can stop reading all you like, but it doesn't change the fact that the Yuba City/Marysville area is a craphole!
If I ever move back to California, it would be to the Monterey area. Everything inland is too ghetto nowadays, and far more expensive than it's worth. I don't mind paying for quality but I have to find it first!

Well, in his defense, not everything is ghetto but there are quite a few unfavorable parts of the area. I'd say YC and Marysville are pretty craptacular - I'd personally never live there.
I think I'd just be bored in Nebraska. Talk about flat.
