Sacramento is a very nice city, that is very close to many world-renowned tourist destinations. You are within 2 hours of San Francisco, Tahoe/skiing, Napa, and the beach. It has experienced a lot of growth in the last few years from people in the bay area seeking cheaper homes. It tends to be very suburban, however there are some nice more urban areas such as midtown and land park. It gets hot in the summer, however the other 3 season are great.

Sacramento is a nice place to live. Ok not New York or Chicago, or I guess Berlin or Hamburg, but cool in its own respect. I like downtown/midtown, which is where a lot of the nightlife and restaraunts are. It also is where the art scene is. There are actually a lot of germans moving to the area with their solar companies and so far so good. They seem to like it.

Like the other posters have said, Sacramento has a very nice location. It's like living in 6 countries within two hours. It's like Italy, Spain, France, Norway, Switzerland, Russia and Japan all together. Deep forests. Farms. Ocean. Mountains. Rice fields. Rivers and streams. Big trees. Lakes. Easy to escape humanity and get to nature.

Very few places in the world are within an easy drive to totally different climates, activities and scenery like Sacramento.

They should have a bicycle race called "The Tour De Sacramento"
