In Sacramento Schoold district - no, not in my opinion
In the greater Sacramento area, as in Roseville, Folsom, San Juan School District, El Dorado Hills, Ganite Bay, Davis.....then yes - there are good high schools
Choose where you live wisely

Don't forget Elk Grove. I'm partial because my wife works at one of the high schools.

Granite Bay High School and Vista Del Lago in Folsom are ridiculously nice, you would think they were colleges. I work for a construction company that is pimping out San Juan HS at the moment, though Citrus Heights aient that great.

Great Public High Schools
John F. Kennedy Senior School has multiple small community schools within the it's regular population. It's really worth checking out. Also, there is a Natomas Charter School that is heavy into drama, cooking and accelerated students. Googling schools and getting on their website is wonderful. Depending upon which district you're in, some are offering Montessoris and theme based to match with your childs needs and/or talents.

From my research the best high schools:
Granite bay, Oak Ridge, Folsom High, Rio American.
The problem when looking for house, how to know boundaries of specific school per zip code.
For example, how I can know which school will attend my kid if we live in 95608?
