At first I thought said trailer parks, not trails, parks.

We have lived in the area for ever so long, but have driven by and stopped to do some shopping a few times (Trader Joes for one) it is clean, suburban and just plain nice. If I was still a young mom I would love to raise my kids there.

Clean, safe area with great schools, decent library and tons of local shopping options. Also has great access to the central Sacramento areas through either Rt 50 and the parallel roads or Greenback/Madison.

Easy to get to/from downtown Sacramento via light rail, at least until like 6:00 when the last train leaves. Some great antique stores and beautiful old buildings in Old Folsom.

Folsom was ranked Silver by the League of American Cities for its bike infrastructure which they are continuing to expand. (Its the second best in the region after Davis)

see also the bike map here. Its pretty easy to get around by bike in Folsom. The network of bike trails continues to expand.

I also thought the CSUS aquatic center was pretty cool. The Pac 10 holds its crew championships at Lake Natomas because the facility is considered the best on the west coast.

ASI Aquatic Center

If you like running, probably one of the better runs in the area is on the horse trails around Lake Natomas. Between Folsom Lake and Lake Natomas mean that just about any activity you want to do on water is available. (crew, water skiing, fishing, canoeing, sailing etc).
