Default Cable/Internet in Rocklin?

So my wife and I are moving to Rocklin in the next month or so.

What internet providers are there? We have Comcast right now, LOVE them for internet, cable is "meh." Open to suggestions on cable, dish, satellite, etc.

Comcast doesn't service Rocklin and I'm not hearing any good news about WaveBroadband (formerly known as Starstream). Caps after downloading certain amounts of information? Not good.

We're both WoW players and they constantly have patches that need to be downloaded. Wife does a bit of streaming with t.v. episodes and P2P file transfers.

We do NOT want dial-up and honestly we haven't heard of anything coming close to comcast internet speeds.

I'm not entirely against AT&T DSL but I hate AT&T with a passion and I don't know how far the DSL hub is from our new address. (Will be living near Sierra College) And we probably won't be using landline service since we're primarily on cell phones, so I don't want to be forced to get a landline for internet usage.

GAH. I wish Comcast was in Rocklin.
I hate change.

Default Wave Broadband

I lived in Rocklin for a year and had a good experience with Wave Broadband. I had a phone, cable & internet bundle that cost at about $125.00 a month.

That included free national calling, basic cable & high-speed internet. I don't know anything about all those "extras" that you want, but their service was prompt, responsive & professional. I would go with them again if I was in Rocklin.

I also lived near Sierra College. You can get services from Wave separately or bundled.

I am on ATT Uverse. You can choose your speed for the internet. Supposedly you connected onto their fiber backbone, so it should be as fast. They have some pretty good deals going now and don't require a contract. I am tring out their entire package and am pretty happy with it so far, two weeks.
magicJack could be an option if you don't want a land line. $40 to start for the first year and $20/year after that. I know a few people that use it and they are happy.
Good luck.

I went with AT&T Uverse, I didn't like the reviews I read about Wave Broadband.

I'm pretty much off my cell and won't need a land line service for now.

Thanks for the input all!

Wave is really awful. I made the mistake of getting them by trying to support the local community, but big mistake. Their price is very high compared to DirectTV (which is what I ended up settling with) and don't offer too many channels.

I'm using Ooma for my phone and AT&T with the fastest internet speed possible for $35 a month.

DO NOT GET ATT UVERSE!!! IT IS CRAP!!! Sorry for those of you who have it but do some research between uverse, directv, dish, etc... Dirctv has one of the best pictures due to the high bit rate. Uverse has a low bit rate, 5kb/s vs 7 or more for Directv.

But enough tech talk. I have directv, got hooked up with the att uverse cash back offers, had uverse installed, and it was truly crap. If you haven't compared then you simply don't know any better. The picture quality of uverse is awful - the picture was hazy and pixelated. It is heavily compressed (the signal) besides the low data rate and artifacts abound as you watch the screen - ie big blobs of pixels all the same color when it should be more integrated. I called 2 days later to cancel and hooked up the directv cable again.

I live near Sierra College and use Uverse for internet (essentially DSL). It's 30/mo for 6mb download speed and you have the option of increasing that speed for a higer cost if you wish. I had Wave Broadband but Uverse is cheaper and the upload speed is faster. Wave also
