Default Emergency witnesses in Sacramento -- please read

I'm collecting data for a psychology paper pertaining to how bystanders in my local area react to emergency situations, be they non-violent such as someone's car breaking down or violent emergencies such as theft, and perhaps in more extreme cases. It happens everywhere, so I would hope no one would let any biases play into why I would choose the Sacramento area for my research -- it just happens to be where I live. Specifically, I live in North Highlands, so if anyone has played witness to any type of emergency and who lives in Highlands, or even anywhere in the Sacramento area, could you please relay your story in this thread?

I've got until Wednesday, September 30th to collect my data, so any replies beyond that date won't be viewed/used in my paper. Those that are used will be cited and credited with your usernames on this forum, but if you for any reason don't want me to use your example, please say so.

Things I'd like for you to consider would be:
- What kind of situation was it?
- Were there other bystanders besides yourself?
- How did you react to the situation?
- How did others react to the situation?
- Were there experts/police officers/etc. nearby? And, if so, did you follow any directions they may have given you?

This thread, I suppose, could also be used for browsing homeseekers to get an idea of what areas hold crime and misfortune, but again, try not to let the answers form any biases about the area. That wouldn't be my intent.

Thank you!
