Who is that woman?? (Sutter: school, university, car)

I have seen this woman on the streets 10 times already. 4 times this past month alone. I last saw her on University Ave (near fair oaks blvd and howe ave) asking people for a ride to pick up her kids. She always uses the same excuse. She does not ask for money just for a ride. Last time i saw her she came to me with wanting a ride to pick up her kids (again!!) and i told her i would call the police if she keeps bothering people. She is in her 40s, dark skinned (looks mexican), curly long hair and always wearing dirty clothes. She does seem out of her mind and runs from car to car asking for a ride. Anyone has seen her? If you do see her do not offer to help her, she is up to something no good.

Ew. I hate to say it, but I think I gave her a ride once. Someone matching that description came up to my car (near Sutter General) like she had a question and then opened the door and got in. She said her daughter had an asthma attack and the school was right down the street. Five miles later "right down the street" was still not upon us, so she had to get out. She told me during the ride that she had been attacked and almost raped the previous week, which kind of creeped me out; it seemed like an all around fishy encounter.

These numerous transients are definately things I am looking to get away from, although this was an extreme example. Definately, don't give these people a ride; in this community, unfortunately, 5150's are too common and you can't always tell the legitimate from the junkies.

She could be suffering from a mental illness.

she could be suffering from mental illness but it's still a good idea to stay away from her. she obviously doesn't have any kids to pick up...The first time she came up to me i bought her story and offered to pay for a cab but she wanted me to give her a ride. if anyone else sees her please post i am just curious if she 's still out there and asking for a ride with the same excuse. next time i am calling the police on her!
