Anyone else live in Sac in the early-mid 90s?
I lived in Orangevale from 1990 to '95, and actually went to school up there for another year (that's a long story), but I haven't been to that area in years. All I know about how it is today is looking up stuff on Google Earth, but I still have a really good memory of how it was back then.
I know this forum is probably more for discussing aspects of the area now, but just thought it would be cool to talk about with any other longtime residents.

Where are you now and why did you leave? I have only faint memories of Orangevale during that time, but its still a nice area.

Hey Rob... I've been in San Jose since '96. Basically my parents separated for awhile (another long story) and I kept living with my mom in Sac, then eventually went to stay with my dad here. Luckily they got back together pretty soon after that, but it was more stable, especially since I would've had to keep changing schools.
Yeah, I like the area both for my memories and the place itself. Plus, I bet rent is still way cheaper than the Bay Area, lol.

That's understandable, you have to do what you have to do, even if it means relocating. I feel fortunate for not having to relocate due to family seperations. Are you interested in coming back at some point?

I've considered it, partly for nostalgia and being more affordable. I'm planning on moving to Pennsylvania next year though (long distance relationship) once I save up a little more. But if I lived in CA again, I definitely would. It'd be cool to get acquainted with the area all over again. From what I've seen on Google, some of it looks way newer, and some still looks 80s like I remember.

In fact there is! Since Placer County basically took off this past decade, there is alot of new building and infrastructure.
