Default Recommendations for Family Friendly Hotel/Lodging

Okay, I am ready to go and explore what Sacramento and Davis have to offer. I'd like some helpful hints with lodging.

Keep in mind, I have two small very active boys (3, 2). Are there any really good hotels (with larger suites, preferably with kitchenette, and kid friendly pool) or other lodging options for a long weekend. Anything in the greater Sacramento area will do, as I plan to drive around a lot to get a feel for the different communities.

Price is not an issue. I prefer to be comfortable in a large hotel room with a kid-friendly pool, than save a few bucks for a suite the size of a closet.

I know it won't tell you the hotels - but you can ceat it by looking at expedia.com and matching up the listings...

Anyway - stay out of Downtown - go to Arden area

There are a lot of the "extended stay" style hotels you're talking about (with the kitchenette and all) in Roseville right off I-80 and Eureka that might be worth looking into... I don't 100% remember all the names since I'm never needing to stay at a hotel in the town where I'm from haha, but look for Larkspur Landing, or Fairfield Inn... I know those are two. they won't be "downtown chique," but couldn't be that bad, as many businesses in Roseville like HP put their folks up there. They're right by a large waterpark that might be worth it to take the kids to, although they may be a little young.

The fact that the hotels are in Roseville might be a good choice since Roseville's one of the main suburbs of Sac, and seeing the areas to live would very likely take you to Roseville anyway. It is a little drive to Davis, though... but again, with Roseville being one of the big suburbs in Sacramento, assuming you're looking for suburban, you'd very likely be going there to see. It's very close to shopping and the like as well if you get tired of looking around.
