My mom needs to relocate to a warmer area of CA.
I did some research and found a senior complex in Natomas.

Is that a nice area and how far is it from downtown Sac?

Thanks

Generally the area is borderline, not great concerning crime but the newer section should generally be OK. Natomas is about 5 miles north of downtown Sacramento.

It is also a part of town built with insufficient levees. There is currently a moratorium on any new building--any new construction must be on top of a 33 foot berm until the new levees are certified. So while it might be safe from crime, just cross your fingers that we don't get a heavy rain year.

Natomas is hit or miss but I prefer South Natomas. Much more character and older.

South Natomas? I don't think she can move the rest home... it's either Natomas or somewhere else.

Natomas is a general term to include both South Natomas and North Natomas. Your post didn't specify which part the home was in, and the previous poster was just saying that they liked South better.

It wasn't clear from the post whether your mom needs a rest home or just wants to live in a senior community. Does she need to be close to down town Sac?

Depends on what part of natomas your talking about, and what your definition of nice is? This is the most commonly misused term on the forum. To some all the more 1990-00's development of north natomas is nice, and to some all of the earlier south natomas neighborhoods are nice. Give us a little more information about what you think would best suite your moms needs.
