Hello Everyone,

I am looking for an affordable 1 Bedroom apartment, preferably unfurnished, for 2 to 3 months only, in the extended Sacramento safe areas. It does not have to be close to any University, Schools or Restaurant as I will be spending most of my time indoor on my computer.

I am not looking for an executive suite or anything fancy as I cannot afford it. Motel or Hotel rooms are always furnished and would be too small to fit my things; besides, it will be way too expensive for 60 to 80 nights stay.

I have seen some apartment offering month-to-month contract from start, but most of them want to run a credit check. I do not have a USA social security number and can only provide a European passport for the rental contract. Is it possible to find apartments for short stay, paying by the week for instance, with no credit to run?

Could you post a few links or tell me where to look?

Also, in case the utilities are not included in the weekly or monthly rent, approximately how much would electricity and gas cost per month for a single person living in a 1 Bedroom apartment? I am a night person and will be working on my computer all night long.

What are the companies providing TV cable and high speed Internet in the Sacramento areas?

Thank you in advance for your help,

Rocalie

Why in the world would you need a apartment for 2 to 3 months in Sacramento specifically if you're going to be working indoors?

When I said "Sacramento areas" I meant Davis, Roseville, woodland, etc., not in the city of Sacramento itself. I will be working on a project and be meeting a few companies specifically located in the area. However, most of the time, I will be working on my computer at home.

Look for "Rooms For Rent"... Davis is great and Roseville is okay (Old Roseville). You might have better luck renting a room from someone in those areas.

Here is an example of a place in Davis through Craigslist:

""Now available: One bedroom in a beautiful 2BR-1Bath duplex in North Davis, within walking distance of downtown, the Davis food co-op, Nugget market, and a short bike ride from UCD campus. The room is 119x113", plus a closet. Shared common areas include one bathroom, spacious living room, wonderful kitchen, washer/dryer area, and a large, fenced backyard/patio. Must share the bathroom and common areas with one quiet, male graduate student who mostly studies and plays video games, and one large dog. Rent is 650 plus shared utilities. Available ASAP through August, but short-term may be negotiable. "" hous-dpa24-1574837824@craigslist.org

Good Luck!

A Sublet(Sub Lease) is a 3rd party lease. If you look around on craigslist you can find people needing short term roommates also, that might help you in your situation.

Thank you SacramentoSally and Burnhams; I will use this clarification to perform some searches on CL.

If I can find a sublet in Davis that would be wonderful. I will not be attending UCD, but I will be meeting some of the students for my project; besides I do not drive cars, only bike to go around.

Thank again,

Rocalie
