I am looking for a rental home in the Sac area. I prefer Roseville, Citrus Heights area. What do you know about Foothill Farms? I have a budget of no more than 1200/month.

Foothill Farms is an older suburb and mostly a working lower/middle-class community. I'd say it's not the best place , but certainly not the worst. I personally would prefer looking into other areas nearby such as Carmichael, Fair Oaks, and parts of Citrus Heights. If you do find something in Foothill Farms, definitely scope it out first during different times of the day. It's a sketchy area , but you may be able to find a place in a decent spot. Good luck.

South of 80 is much nicer than North of 80.

The CHP station is at 5109 Tyler St. Sacramento 95841, just off Date avenue. If you are looking for cheap rent in a very safe part of North Highlands, that area would be an excellent area to look. Lots of students from ARC. You have CHP cars coming and going from that station at all hours of the night. I would focus on the area between Madison and Myrtle, between College Oak, Auburn and 80.

I grew up in Football Farms and my family has been in same house for 31years. No doubt the area was so much better when I was growing up; but I still think it's not the worst place and I feel safe. I would avoid anything on or near Hillsdale blvd near 7/11 cricket mobile, donut shop, liquor store shopping centers.
Otherwise think good neighbors and no major issues.
