South Salem is generally referred to as anything south of Mission street (although State st is the North/South Divider) and west of I-5 (although Mission to Madrona is often called south-central). Now there is an idea. Give "West Salem" a look. Great newer schools, some real upscale and middle class neighborhoods and you have the river between you and the government/prison, and Salem Riff-Raf (Not counting River Park). West Salem also has an easier drive to some of the great Colleges and Universities, in Newberg and Corvallis. You're still close to the freeway when you want it, Salem Shopping, and Medical when needed. The south and north end business and shopping districts are just a drive across the bridge and a right or left turn.

Well A little grape is good, but as a teetotaler, other than alter wine, I don't partake. But..... I am going to church twice a day now. Yep, the grape tour west of Salem gets better every year.
