Last night my wife and I attended the Oregon Symphony at Smith Auditorium, Willamette University. The university is beautiful at night, and the Oregon Symphony is world class. With the exception of a few college kids, we seemed to stand out for being some of the youngest people there. They really put on a great performance and I wanted to give them a plug as one of our many treasures here in Salem. If you enjoy the symphony, I encourage you to attend.

Salem has a lot of jewels not yet recognized by the masses.

My son's a grad student in theory/composition at the U of O music department, which has live streaming of many of their concerts. You can hear a lot of new music if you get tired of what I call the "Classical Top 40" composers (though there's some of that, as well). The department has a fantastic piano teacher whose grad students come from schools like Juilliard and Indiana (which is the top-ranked music school in the country). A couple weeks ago they played the Prokofiev piano sonatas over two evenings - fantastic! The schedule is found here, and if the concert is streamed, you can access it at concert time by clicking on the "Live-stream" link at the left. I was able to watch a famous sax quartet from NYC, PRISM, play one of my son's compositions a few weeks ago. Next best thing to being there!
