Input on dog boarding in Salem (Dallas: day care, place to live, low cost)

We have two dogs that need to be boarded in mid March when we arrive and start apt/house hunting.

I've found Orchard View veterinary care in Salem - does anyone have nay/yay on it?

We have a chi/terrier mix and a cockapoo who are 10 and 11 years old. They're still spry but I don't want them in a place where they're cold and neglected (Gawd I sound like one of those people who spoil their dogs) I know they're 'just dogs' but they're also family and one is a service animal to me.

I don't want to drag them around town while we look for a place to live. I don't think it's fair to them to leave them in a car, even if it's warm and they have a bed in their kennel.

Even a good doggy day care will be appreciated. Does low cost mean low care in Salem and surrounding areas?

There is an excellent boarding facility on the Dallas Cutoff about 20 minutes from Salem. You must see it to believe it.

Call Shaggy Dogs out on Cowell Hollow Rd in Dallas,
The owner Shelly lives on site, they do doggie day care, have heated runs
and its just neat..Our cocker Herbie loves it out there, they also do grooming and
have a vet on call...We live in north Salem and its worth the drive out there..
Here is the phone number 503 623-3883 tell them Herbie Bennett said its great place
to stay while mom and dad are off doing mom and dad things..
Herbie is going out there in March for about 15 days while we go south..

I'm glad you were able to help. I use a dog sitter when I'm gone so our dogs stay at home.
