Ok I have a year to decide where or if to move but like to research ahead so here goes... (I also posted this in the CO forum)
I'm from OR and WA and have lived in Phoenix for the last 2 yrs. Been to UT a lot since I have some family there, but I am not familiar with the salt lake area towns. I use to have family in the Boise ID area but I don't know the area well. Have one family member in the corner of Co by UT but haven't seen much of the area yet either.
My husband more then likely will be getting a job that requires him to travel between Wy, MT, ID, UT, and CO for the next 3 to 4 yrs- so we are trying to figure out where we will want to move too. For the next yr he will just fly back and forth to AZ when he can, unless we decide we want to stay here for the 3-4 yrs and see how it goes.... not sure yet.
Looking for an area with good schools from elm to high school, as we have 3 children ranging from 4 months to 12 yrs. Also would love to be able to have a garden and a good sized yard with grass and trees. Low crime rates, close to a medium/large town for shopping and I need to be semi close to an airport, but also close to mountains, lakes rivers and such. We'd be renting a 4 bed house to start off and would like to keep it under 1400 a month. I'm ok with snow and rain but prefer it if theres sun along with the snow
We aren't LDS but don't have any issues regarding the religion as long as the kids don't get shunned for it.
Things we like and dislike about AZ - like; having a pool, mild winters and some family here.
dislike; 110-120 degree summers for 4-5 months, small yards, not great for gardens, far from mountains and such and too far from other family.
Things I miss about OR and WA; close to outdoor rectreation, mountains and such, beautiful greenery. Family and friends.
Anyway any input would be great I'm sure I left a bunch out.
