Can someone explain to me why they killed themselves? They didn't lose the business, so why do it, and on Christmas?

No one really knows. They lost a lawsuit over partner rights with a former partner and may have lost $2 million themselves. The business is up for sale and may be in bankruptcy. I gleaned this from various news stories. It was a terrible legacy for their families, to think of this every Christmas Eve.

The restaurant and the partners were at odds for a number of years now. Indeed they had also had some greater financial troubles over the last 2 years and were trying to sell for some time. I remember the place back in the late 70's when it was THE place to go, and the pricing structure never changed much, it was always out there. Oh well.....time moves on and change.
