Townhouse vs older, not-so-nice house
I just sold my home and received a decent amount in equity. My quandry is this: I'm going from a 6 bedroom, 4 bath very nice home to something more affordable, yet nice, for just myself. At the present, I'm renting. I like the idea of buying a townhouse.... very affordable. Yet... I hear they do not resale well. On the other hand, at the same price of a townhouse, I don't think I can get much of a home. What do you think the market will be in the resale of a townhouse, compared to selling a "not-so-wonderful," $200,000 house in the SLC area? Would looking for a foreclosure be more profitable? How can I research the advantages/disadvantages of these options? Are there other options out there?
