Well, right now I am in a hotel in South Jordan for my interview tomorrow. It was a beautiful drive from AZ to UT but no one told me about the I-17 construction...No matter..This place looks really beautiful so far and I think this is the first time in my life I was ever by a mountain tall enough to have snow on it in summer.

By the way thanks for the links.

Head up to Alta for some skiing after the interview.

Good luck tomorrow!

City living here is affordable and sounds up your alley. Smoking is easy enough, its not a huge deal but the bars are smoke free, which even as a smoker I like. The typical 23 year old in Sugarhouse or Downtown is a drinking liberal with sleeve tats.

Good luck on your interview! I-15 you mean? There is ALWAYS construction on I-15. At least it seems that way.

i think that there is a state ordinance in effect that will fine local politicians if I-15 isn't partially or completely closed in every county that it passes through because of reconstruction. seriously.

Haha yes I did mean I-15...I guess you guys have the same situation we have in WI...If the roads aren't covered in snow, they're under construction.

Anyway, I went to the interview today and got the job...Now it's time to search for a place to live....Sugar house sounds good but is a little pricier than other places I suppose.

The manager told me to avoid places west of I-15, but I am in West Valley city right now off the 215 and, yeah it is maybe not the nicest place in the world but doesn't seem too bad. There is some good Mexican food here.

Congrats!

Yes, don't go west of the 15 unless you go down to South Jordan, Riverton or Herriman. Much of West Jordan is fine also.

Hey Congrats on getting the job!! If you share with us some of your specifications for what kind of a place you are looking for (apt complex, home, do you have children, approx how much of a commute do you want, where is your job located, budget, that sort of thing) we can help you narrow down some areas that you might like.

I used to live in the area in which you are staying now. It was years ago and the crime has increased in that area since I have moved out of there. I am not saying it is South Central LA mind you, but it isn't as nice as some other areas that you could live. In Utah, you can get pretty good Mexican food just about ANY area you live!

Congrats again!

Sugarhouse isn't at all unreasonable in terms of price. Do yourself a huge favor: Listen to your grandma (that would be me) and don't stay in West Valley City. Oh, and congrats!

Well, my posts are starting to greatly outpace my rep point count, but I'd rather stay true to my thoughts and seek the answers to questions that I have and let the chips fall where they may.

When I think of smoking, drinking and sleeve tats, I envision an Army gunnery sargeant, someone that could win a bronc riding competition in the Oakley rodeo, or one of the big rig drivers (one was a woman if memory serves) in "Ice Road Truckers".

Now I'm not saying a 20 something Sugarhouse liberal might not be able to perform one or even all of the above endeavors. But if not I'm just wondering what the symbolism represents, and if the behavior is being engaged in to stand out and be different, what happens when enough 20 something Sugarhouse or SLC resients engage in the behavior that it is now more of a mainstream majority.

Bearing in mind "Those who do not learn from history are condemned to repeat it".

Not trying to be disagreeable, just food for thought, questions are of course rhetorical so respond if you see fit or let them pass into oblivion.
