We are in the process of relocating to West Jordan. It looks like my children will be attending Fox Hollow Elementary. Is anyone aware of any before / after school care options in the area that provide transportation to this school? We can't find a thing!

Thanks!

Fox Hollow is our new school here. One of my good friends teaches K there. I don't think there are before/after care at this school. What times & ages are your kids? I can ask my friend. She is awesome! Our kids go to a neighboring school. All but one of the Mom's in our 'hood that I know of are SAHM's. I sit for the one I know that isn't (a single Mom) .

FWIW, this area is great, & you should love it! =)

Serengeti Springs Apartments (7898 south 6710 west) has a childcare program called Serengeti Explorers that is open to the public. Don't know much about it but here's their website: http://www.serengetiexplorers.com

Edit: From their website, "School Age fees vary to accomodate On & Off Track schedules and Before & After School Care. The service includes transportation to local schools for both delivery & pick-up. Call us to check pricing to meet your needs!"

Default Thanks!

Okay, so we checked out the place at Serengeti. The staff seemed very nice, and I think they are a small operation that can provide some individual attention to my kids. We also checked out a place by Jordan Landing, it was awesome but too far away for us!

Buckeyez - if you know anyone who cares for children around the Club Ivory communicaty let me know!!! I'm glad to hear I'm moving into such a nice, family oriented area.

Is anyone worried about the closeness of the new MountainView Corridor out there? It doesn't look like it will come too close where I will be, but it's somewhat unclear exactly where it will be in relation to already existing neighborhoods...

Mountain view corridor, 8200s is NOT supposed to be an exit in our 'hood. 7800s and 9000s are. I can't wait for it. Smoother sailing home for hubby. Lol maybe a bit more business and traffic north and south of us, but not in our 'hood.

NP, I was concerned too, hence why I've researched & followed to progress. lol Not sure where club ivory is. We are in 'The Oaks'. 'The Maples' are to our north, I think, at Fox Hollow now, as are the Serengeti apts. The Sycamores to our west (yes, you read it right, our WEST) are still at Oakcrest. My friend lives there & has a DS in another friends class.. I'm happy to say, I intro'ed the 2 boys & they are friends. =)

I did have a friend displaced by the Mountain View Corridor in WVC. She was across the street from the reptile rescue guy. =)

We really need an east/west highway in the south. 62 is a joke most days. lol

78 & 90 are too. 70 is the one I go to at rush hour, or, Gardiner Road (86) . No traffic.

Well thanks for the tips on what roads to avoid. I figured out that 90 was bad this week while driving around running errands! I did a test drive from the daycare at Serengeti up to the airport, where I work, and it took about 25 minutes. I took 111. I can't imagine driving that particular route on a snowy or icy day! At least there is an emergency truck run off at the bottom of the hill by Magna! lol

One thing I can't find about the schools is what school supplies my children need to go in with. They start on Monday, I am probably just going to go in with them to meet their teachers and find out what they may need.

The Club Ivory community is right off of 82 s and 64 w. It's on the north side of 82 s. Fox Hollow is directly east of the community, at 60....

Okay, I know where you are now, you are the 'right turn' before the round about. lol We've ridden & walked through there & found geocaches there. Great area close to our old ward's church. Yep, I know, even if I'm not LDS. lol

Bacchus, ie rt 111, is a god send. lol It does get bad or icy. When we don't have 4wd, we take other routes. Myself, as a timid driver (MY opinion lol) drove my 4wd Honda Pilot on 111 when cars were sliding & stuck on the hill out of Magna. I was proud. =)
