I grew up in Lehi!!!
Hey good luck on your move next Spring! I understand how you might worry about your kids being ostracized, he he, I am a mormon living in southern VA. I grew up in Lehi. It's a great area, clean, low-crime, etc... I went to Elementary, Middle, and High School in Lehi and I had a few non-member friends. In fact, I still maintain contact with them even though I'm way out here in VA. Tscrilla (above) was right (though a bit hasty, he he), when she implied that just like catholics, presbyterians, baptists, methodists, etc... mormons (though highly outnumbering any other denomination in Utah County) can be really good neighbors if you find a good neighborhood (there are many)... we can even be a bit too helpful at times (ie - don't be surprised if one of your neighbors comes to visit, talk, or help while you are moving your stuff in.)
Lone Peak High School has a reputation for being the "world class" high school in the county (it actually says that on the side of the school, he he), and it's really close to I/M flash. My sister taught 4 years at an elementary in Alpine and loved it. My mom teaches 5th grade at an elementary in Lehi. Correct me if I'm wrong, but relative to high real estate costs in northern virginia, I would suppose you guys could get a bigger house than you're used to, even in the expensive North-Eastern Lehi areas?
Anyway, sorry for the novel-length reply, I just love my not-so-little-anymore hometown, Lehi. My wife, daughter, and I are moving back around December 17th when I finish finals at Southern Virginia University. Please don't hesitate to ask if you would like us to look at a house for you, or scope out an area or something. We'd love to help!
Good Luck!
Marc Hadfield
p.s.- there are various denominations near/in Lehi. We can let you know where they are.
