Shanewear, if you don't mind, may I ask what's drawing you to Salt Lake City?

I think we are mainly looking for some privacy between neighbors and lots where you're not on top of your neighbors. I'm not sure though if that qualifies as secluded? We want to know and befriend our neighbors, too, with hopes that our children can play together, etc. Does this still sound like a good fit?

If you want privacy, a house on our road is up for sale. I think the lot is a little less than 3/4 acre, Millcreek goes through the front yard and we are on a private dead end road.
To answer a few of your earlier questions, we do have lots of young families in our area and older folks too. The elementary schools are Upland and Eastwood, Jr High is Wasatch and HS is Skyline.
Something I was not prepared for is the amount of snow that we get. I was planning on getting rid of our snowblower when we moved down here but we just bought a new, bigger, better more powerful one than we had in Park City,,,go figure!!!
People really do live in Deer Valley by the way, I was being kind of facetious. I have 2 girlfriends that bought up there and then regretted the decision as it really is not a neighborhood.
The only place in PC that I can think of that has a neighborhood feel and is close to Old Town in Thaynes Canyon and Park Meadows. We lived in Thaynes for 15 years and the only thing I miss about PC at all is our neighbors.
Why do you want to be near Old Town?

Sorry I did not see your question before... We are wanting to move, and SLC just seems to fit a lot of what we are wanting in life. Family-friendly, very close to skiing and hiking, and close to a large airport.

Do you mean Old Town in Park City? Sorry I don't know the lingo yet. I'd like to be within walking distance of restaurants in Park City if that's possible, although I really do want a neighborhood feel with other families nearby. I'd love to hear more about what you thought of living in Park City and why you don't miss much about it.

If we go with SLC over PC, I'm thinking we're probably leaning toward Holladay or Federal Heights. I've heard it really does snow a ton in Millcreek, so I can believe it about your snowblower. I've heard it can be dumping in your area while only getting a few inches around the U. Crazy!

Well, you could find both complete seclusion and simply big lots with privacy in Hollday. Keep Federal Heights open as an option, too. There is an older part of Federal Heights and also a newer part. The homes in that area are absolutely gorgeous.

All I can say is that when you move into your beautiful new home, you'd better invite all of us over to see it.

I will definitely keep Fed Hts open, too. You guys are so helpful - thank you! I know I've been asking a ton of questions, so I really appreciate all of your patience with me. I'll try to a bit.

You can research lake effect snow. Buffalo gets it, too, I believe.

Pure baloney.

We have more non-LDS than LDS in my East Sandy close to Draper neighborhood.

I'm a Democrat, ex-catholic married to a Jew and we moved here from LA.

I'd also suggest Pepperwood. It's expensive but it's very close to Little Cottonwood Canyon.....
