I'm sure there are some "gangs" out here, but nothing like what you see in SoCal. Back there, there are so many, they make themselves known, just to up their reps. Out here, they're more likely to keep a low profile, and use Utah as a 'stop over' between Chicago and LA, and Mexico.
On the other hand though, because there is not a lot of publicity about them, people are naive out here, and set themselves up to be easy victims. Maybe I'm just too cynical, but people seem to be way too trusting. Leaving cars running and unattended, garage doors left open all night, kids out unsupervised, not locking doors and windows....

Ogden is the worst city in Utah as far as gangs go. they arent territorial though, but very organized and blatant drug activity. Ogden is littered with poverty and crime, drugs and prostitution. SLC is very, very bad in areas of East WVC and Glendale, Rosepark has its rough areas but alot of young people are moving back into the city and they are moving to the affordability of Rose Park. The SLC metro area has over 2 million people in it and there are only about 3 strong gang areas. Not so bad in my opinion.

With all due respect (and no doubt it WILL offend some) Tooele is s DUMP. I'd avoid that place. Plenty of gang activity there and it's only getting worse. Unless you live in some outlying areas it pretty much sucks.

I'm sure he didn't mean all of Tooele County, just the older core center of town. |

I hope not. Even so, I don't know that I would call it a "DUMP". It has an small town quaintness about it....but tomato, tomahto....

You should check out the History Channels Gang episodes. There is one specifically on Utah, SLC gangs. They are hugely hispanic or pacific islander gangs. And not just in Ogden but every where.
