Can you guys give your opinions about West Valley? From the map it looks pretty green with trees and established neighborhoods, but I've seen some negative posts about the city. The houses we are looking at are within a mile radius of Bangerter Hwy and City Park, and Pioneer Valley Hospital. How is the drive out to Draper in the mornings?

West Valley is a rather big area.
There are definitively some *you do not want to live there* areas.

Drive around there and get *the feel* of it.

You see *unkempt* lawns, rusty old cars in the drive ways, etc, then that equals not desirable.

My friend lives in really West Valley, and it's just north of the copperton mine area. It's a pretty, very new subdivision that she lives in and she loves it there. Those kinds of WVC (west valley city) set ups are fine. However, there is a HUUUGE chunk of it that I would avoid like the plague. You can find other houses in a similar price range that are in better more desirable areas.

I don't know about the drive to Draper, but I can tell you that we just bought a home in Draper for 180,000. It's in a cute neighborhood that is 15 years old, and we love it. Keep looking, I would stay out of WVC, but that's my personal opinion.

Just my two cents Good luck.

If there is a choice involved choose closer to Draper and on the East side if possible. No need to make your live difficult.

Draper is more middle and upper class neighborhoods.

West Valley is older and has some good neighborhoods middle class, but it also has some pretty bad ones.

There seem to be a lot of meth neighborboods in Kearns, West Valley and Magna.

As far as commuting in the morning I could not say because I don't drive that direction in the mornings.
