I wish they'd stop advertising us as being so great for this or that... just look at how wonderful Southern California was before everyone agreed that it was the best place in the world to live.

I don't get the metric: "Supervisor treats you like a friend rather than a boss" thing....

Who answers like that?

Reminds you of LA?

That made me laugh!~

I think they should keep it up..... that way in 9 years when I want to sell - my house might turn an actual profit.

I'm from just outside L.A, and I don't really get reminded of L.A. here in the SLC area, when it's freezing cold and snowing out in the winter

I shudder to even imagine what this area will be like in another decade. I'm sorry to say while we WILL have more mass transit and more highways, the traffic will without a doubt be orders of magnitude worse (and with the driver quality being what it is more than crazy). About the best scenario I could hope for is that the housing prices will skyrocket and I can move on (if they don't tax me out of the house before that happens). Right now I'm so upside down it will probably take that long to get well out of it. I long for cleaner air, more space and peace and quiet. That here has come and gone in the last 30 years. Oh well. That's typical life I guess.

I lived all over the SLC area, Bountiful, Sandy, Sugarhouse etc and moved to Los Angeles about 6 years ago.
I really liked my time living in Utah/SLC and miss it a lot and hope to make the move back very soon. Jobs in SLC are hard to come by...GOOD jobs that is, but I've got a decent lead on what appears to be a good job and they are bringing me down to interview in person next week.
I guess where I'm going with this post is that I REALLY miss SLC a lot and any of the negatives of the area are far outweighed by all of the positives... I never really appreciated just how great SLC is until I moved here to Los Angeles...I really hope I get this opportunity to return to SLC!

Don't worry about that. California didn't become popular because it ranked high on some list. People moved there because of the nice weather, and so forth. I don't think Utah will have the same problem.
