I'm interested in tracking the recent snowfall and the snow to come. I love it, my wife doesn't. Want to post how much you got, your approximate location (valley, east bench, Ogden etc etc) and how long it lasted on local streets, sidewalks etc? Thanks in advance to anybody that replies. Merry Christmas, Jolly Fezmucah and Happy Solstimus!

I live on the west bench (Daybreak), we got about 5 inches and the roads are fine now. Check out the map and click the webcam tab to the right, there is a live cam right near me. WunderMap® | Interactive Weather Map and Radar | Weather Underground

Also I attached the current pic.

We used to live in Spanish Fork, and we got e-mails from a couple of neighbors about the wind, and snow they had last week. Our neighbors said it blew for 3 days out of the canyon, relentlessly. The neighbor across the street from us said he went out one morning to go to the gym, and had a 4' drift in front of the garage that had dirt, and weeds from the field behind his house. Took him an hour to shovel it. Don't miss that for a minute.

Wonder what the significance is about the position of each *camera icon* on that map ? Some of them are horizontal and and some of them vertical, and not always in the same direction. I do not have time to *keep looking at it*, but I wonder of they are movable ?

You've got a smart wife.

I'm in Cottonwood Heights, on Salt Lake City's east bench. We also got 5 to 6 inches. We're about a mile below the mouth of Big Cottonwood Canyon, so I'm actually kind of surprised that we didn't get more, since the mountains undoubtedly really got dumped on. The snow removal on the streets in the Salt Lake area is excellent. I've got to admit that. Driving in the residental areas of the city can be tricky for a couple of hours after a major storm, but even on my little side street, the roads are always plowed very soon after a big storm. Most people are pretty good about keeping their walks shoveled, too, which is good.

The good news is, the Winter Solstice has passed. The days are getting longer.

I think they can move, I noticed that one by me was in the same position for weeks, now it has moved twice this week.
