My family will be renting a condo in Park City for the entire month of July this summer. I have a 3 year old and 7 year old. We will have our car. We are from Texas, and only know a little bit about the area being there once before for a long weekend (back in October).

I know some of the resorts have summer activities going on. Just wondering what are some good websites to look for information on what's going on? Also, what is they best way to meet people, and possibly get my girls to meet some friends? I thought about maybe enrolling them in some sort of week long day camp while we are there. Not sure where to start looking for that kind of information though.

I plan to do a lot of sight seeing while we are there. So anything you suggest I will consider! Might not make it down to St. George or anything, but do plan on sight seeing all around SLC, Ogden Valley, Alta, Midway, Heber, etc.

Thanks!

Deer Valley has a great summer program for kids that age. It will have a some local kids but more out of town/2nd home owners kids. Sign up now as it usually is full wayyyy before summer arrives in Park City which by the way is July the 4th.
Kimball Art Center runs,or used to run, a few art things too. When my kid was around 8-9, he enjoyed the Norwegian School camps but I am not sure if they still run camps.
For your older kid, check into Young Riders for biking too...

The Park City events calendar is really helpful -
Park City Utah Events - Calendar, Festivals, Music, Concerts, Annual and Ongoing Events

Generally the Canyons and Deer Valley each have one free outdoor concert a week during the summer. They're pretty casual and family-friendly, and you bring your own food/drinks/chairs. There are also various other performances, movie screenings and events, as well as the weekly farmer's market at the Canyons and the Park Silly market on Main St.

The Snyderville Basin Rec Center has some sports programs for kids:
Youth Recreation | Snyderville Basin Special Recreation District

The Swaner EcoCenter has some science-based summer programs for 1st grade and up -

Also check out the Park City recreation website. I just got a brochure in the mail from them and it seems like there are several summer programs:

Look up Heber Valley Railroad, Bear River Bird Refuge, Museums in Ogden, plan a trip to Logan and don't forget to visit the Kennecot copper mine.
