Default From Saudi Arabia to SLC

I am planning to move to SLC next month to start my gradate studies. I am looking for an apartment close to the U of U and easy to get to the university without a car. I am not familiar with public transportations in SLC. My questions are:
What is the best and the nearest houses or apartments to the U of U ranging in rent from $500-750?

What kind of public transportations I could use to get to the U of U?

Check out: http://www.rideuta.com/ridingUTA/schedules/routeSchedules.aspx?routeGroupID=1 this website for public transportation info. (Sorry, links are working for me today.)

Click on the "TRAX" link for light rail information. There is a light rail line just for the University of Utah area.

I never lived near the U when I attended college. Maybe someone else can help you with that.
