Ghungroo is on a distinguished road
Regarding the discussion of crime in West Jordan, I spent some time checking out the area on crimereports.com and found some definite trends. As others have said, the northern part of West Jordan is not so great. But I found that it starts at about 7000 S. and most sharply at 6200 S and to the north which is actually right near or outside the West Jordan boundaries in most cases. Once you go north of 6200 S. the levels of assaults rise sharply, and there are many more robberies and stolen vehicles. The crime around Oquirrh Park and north into Kearns is rediculous! The crime map swarms with incidents in that area, whereas the areas south of 7000 S. have more sporadic crime. The other high crime neighbor is Midvale- once you near and cross I-15, it is like night and day.

I found seeing it on a map so enlightening. I've decided my gauge of the safety of an area is to look at the number of assaults versus other types of crime (breaking and entering, vehicle theft, etc.).

I also noticed that the traffic in West Jordan seems terrible. But I'm figuring out it may just be perception. I'm moving to a place in W. Jordan that has the same commute time to my job as my current location in East Millcreek, but when I tested the commute in West Jordan it *felt* like FOREVER compared to how it currently feels. I'm not sure why- Maybe it's because the traffic in West Jordan is much more stop-and-go and the streets have more lanes to make you feel like you could be going faster. I don't know what it is but it actually doesn't take that long if you clock it. Strange. I'd rather take the wide roads and turn lanes in West Jordan than the 1-lane/no turn lane roads in Sugarhouse and other east side locations that drive me absolutely bonkers as I try to give all the bicyclists their three feet of room when there is none and get stuck behind old grannies going 20 mph. If there's one thing I don't like about many eastside locations, it's the one-lane roads and endemic low speed limits.
