SouthernBelle,

Just checking that phone # again. I do know many folks take their cell phones from different area codes to another, but 408 wouldn't be a UT area code. However, in looking for myself, that was the number I found too. Here's a link that shows Samar Michaels. Booth Rental, Salon Suites in Draper Utah – Studio Salons (855) 696-9626
If that link doesn't show her name scroll down to where the it says "tenants" and click on that.

I'm glad to see you checking out additional options, ChocolatenVanilla. Salt Lake City is closer to Pocatello than Boise is. It is straight down I-15.

With a SLC metro population of more than a million people and Ogden metro having something like 400K, the increased population alone increases the amount of African American residents.

You may want to Ogden a bit more in depth. Check out the city info on City -Data, don't go into the forums, to get the break down for every county in either state. Just click on the state and you should be able to review info for each city of the % of every race for that city.

Here's the example for SLC showing more than 4,000 (2.5%) and that's not the metro population, just the very limited borders of SLC. www.city-data.com/city/Salt-Lake-City-Utah.html So much info that others want to know are contained in those pages. Some check them out and some don't. I hope that link will yield you a lot of useful info for all the cities you're considering.

You'll know when you find your new "home" for you

I'd say look into Ogden, SLC and maybe even Logan, as well as communities like Layton, Clearfield and perhaps parts of West Valley City. I'm probably leaving some other potential places out.

Has anyone recommended The Duo Salon or Sarah the Braid Lady?? Sarah is white, but she is fantastic at braiding. Her husband is African (Nigerian??) and is a barber.
