I have a HUGE old octopus furnace that used to burn coal and then was converted with a gas contraption from the 50's to send heat through the Octopus arms, it's not forced air but still does the trick. It breaks sometimes and is pretty "jerry rigged" so I think it's time to get it out and have a real furnace installed. It has asbestos on the top of it and wonder if anyone has had this done and can recommend a service and maybe the approximate price. The house will be completely empty and we plan to redo the floors afterwards before moving back in so at least no one and no furniture will be in the house.
