We researched and there are no unity churches in this area. We are Christian and are looking for a church that is open minded, and also do not Mormon hate. We have lived in Bountiful and Centerville most of our lives and are now looking for like minded spiritual people. Any ideas anyone? In Layton please.

From your description, it's a little hard for to figure out which churches would best align with your beliefs, so here is one suggestion: Visit the Belief-net website and take their "Belief-o-matic" quiz. It is an interesting eye-opener to see how your personal convictions line up against those of different organized religions. And while you're at at, here's another interesting link: The Christian Left Welcomes You

Bountiful UCC may be the most liberal Protestant congregation in Davis County. Salt Church and Elevation Church in Layton both call themselves "progressive Christian" churches.

Highway 193 runs along the south boundary of Hill Air Force Base in Layton. Along that highway there are several Christian churches. I would suggest you check all of them out. It shouldn't be hard to do.

I assume you are talking about the Unity Church denomination, not the Unitarian Universalists. If so, there is a Unity Church in Salt Lake City. There is the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection in Centerville, and there are other Episcopal Churches throughout Utah. They were the first Protestant church organized in the Utah Territory. The Episcopal Church in Utah generally has a cordial relationship with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The Diocese of Utah is generally regarded as one of the more liberal dioceses within the province.

Here you go... You'll thank me later!

Layton | Alpine Church

It used to be affiliated with our church in Bountiful "Bountiful heights church" that separated and became "Flourishing Grace Church".

The atmosphere is very casual and inviting. Most of the people were very accepting and welcoming to new members without all the pressure/expectations that come from some churches.

Good luck!

Cool I’m glad your experience was positive as well. We went to Christmas Eve service in Bountiful and had a great experience. They were super welcoming the music was good and the message was very accessible to non core religious goers persay. Our past experiences in Layton were similar.

Was nice having coffee and cookies afterward for a little social interaction.
