Can anyone recommend an insurance agent in SLC area? Son is in Murray, but anyplace that writes in Utah and has great service. It appears that Geico, Bear River, and All-State are recommended for best rates for 21 yr old with clean record and good credit.

Well, for anyone who comes upon this thread, GEICO was clearly the best rate by far in SLC for auto insurance for a 21 year old who had never before had insurance. Seriously, the other companies that would write for a previously uninsured young person were charging, through an agent, THREE TIMES what Geico was.

Tell your kid to download the root app on his phone. I switched over from GEICO last October. My rate was cut in half. They price you out by your driving habits, not by age and the usual factors.

The Leavitt Group.

I am accident attorney by profession. GEICO Insurance is for people trying to do the bare minimum who just want a piece of paper that says they have insurance and who don't care about claim service if they are in an accident.

Anyway, give the Leavitt Group a call and see if they can help you. This is an independent insurance agent that sells insurance for multiple companies. They can find the right company and the right coverage for you.

Also, remember that a real independent insurance agent in a brick and mortar building is going to be able to give you advice on what type of insurance you need that you can't get on the internet. I'm afraid there are some sad people who believe you can do everything as well on a computer as you can do person-to-person. Sorry to say, its just not true.
