Default Tell me about Davis County

We're currently living in Salt Lake County but planning to move to Davis County to be a little closer to HAFB, where my husband has been working for a few years.

We'd like to stay relatively close to the family we have living in Salt Lake County (Sandy, Holladay, West Jordan). . .We've checked out Bountiful and Centerville, but we're also open to cities a little further north. The #1 priority for me is high-quality schools--we'd like this next house to be one we can stay in as we raise our family. We'd also prefer a more established community with a mix of older and younger families. Suggestions? Thoughts? Thanks in advance!

I grew up in Davis county and currently live in Salt Lake County. I loved the environment of Davis county (Layton to be exact). The population increased drastically in that area. There are alot more people there and I am not so sure of how many new schools have gone up since then. The schools were awesome when I was there but that has been quite a few years ago. With the population increase your biggest concern would be over-populated classrooms. Layton pretty much has everything you need within the city & if not you know that Salt Lake is not that far away. There is a large variety of diversity within the city as well.
My brother just moved to Bountiful and I feel from his area that this is an older aged family area (I could be wrong and it may only be his neighborhood). I am sure where ever you go within the state you will find younger and older families.
I don' t think that Centerville or Bountiful will expand much more due to the lake to the west and the mountains to the east (unless they keep going up the mountain).
I wish I could be of more help.

My daughter attends Layton High, and I am very pleased with that school. And we are not LDS. She loves it.
