I bet the LDS Church has those numbers.

In it he mentioned that the protagonist's family is Catholic amongst the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints majority.

So sure enough, I looked up Price, Utah and it is 54% LDS and 22% Catholic and a hodge podge of others.
My husband grew up in the 1940s and 50s in a coal camp outside Helper (which is very close to Price). There were lots of non-LDS families in the area, even back then.

The last census was 2010. Based upon that - Morgan County had the highest percent of LDS at 86.1%. This, of course, is a more dated statistic than the other one posted, but its antecedents are a bit more solid - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demogr..._Utah#Religion

Then about the time I finished with about the second book...........Here come the Osmond Brothers on radio and TV.

I wish there was a way to track the percentage of Church members as a percentage of the total of Utah residents through the decades since statehood.
There actually is, I have heard it referenced. Latter-day Saints have not always comprised the majority of the population since statehood. Right now, the proportional population is in the middle of the historical record.

Carbon County, where Price is located, was 49% LDS in 2000.
